“Handscapes” var vid tiden för sin inspelning 1972 ett nyskapande format. De sju pianisterna Ron Burton, Stanley Cowell, Nat Jones, Hugh Lawson, Webster Lewis, Harold Mabern och Sonelius Smith bildade The Piano Choir och erbjöd kraftfullt ljud med piano, elpiano och synthesizer.
Detta efterföljande album spelades in i augusti och december 1974 i Minot Sound Studios för Strata-East.
